They've created a MONSTER...
A hair monster, that is!!!
A few months ago, I found out about several blogs that dealt with creative hair styles for girls. I've been hooked ever since!!! I've spent hours searching through hundreds of hair blogs finding easy, creative hairstyles that I could do on my girls. I was so excited to finally find something that would help me create cute styles for the girls... I'd only wish I had found these blogs BEFORE I cut off the girls' hair :(
I was searching for the best St. Patrick's day style for the girls' hair on the holiday. I already found nice hair bows for them at Target in the Dollar Spot... all I needed was a style!
I found what I was looking for HERE!!!!
Funny thing is... I was dreaming of how to make my own St Patty's day style, and this was what I had planned to do! COOL! I'm starting to think like the pros!
Everything went pretty smooth St Patty's morning. I got up just a few mintues early (Bella and I sleep until the last possible moment). I bet this style only took me about 10 mintues to do.
I was able to spend a few more minutes on Sophie's hair because she doesn't start school as early as Bella.
Mindy is a great stylist! Take some time to check out her other dos! She's really helped make having little girls a whole bunch of FUN!!! I LOVE when someone stops me and comments on the girls' hair :) I almost have a hard time sharing where I've found my inspiration! LOL!!!
ENJOY a few of my favorites:
Knotty do
3 barrel curling iron
Crazy Buns I used this hairstyle for Sophie's 4th birthday! I added sparkly pipe cleaners too! How fun!
Hope you find something you can use!!
Have fun!!!

Sophie... The Fish Killer
The events in this post happened April 28, 2008... I almost needed to engrave that date into a headstone.....
Oh, I'm so mad at Sophie.
That kid this week.... she's gonna drive.me.mad.
She asked to go play with Barbies in her sister's room. I was checking emails and grabbed a few minutes on SS. I said fine, just pick up what you play with.
A few minutes later (5-10 at the most), I went downstairs to check on her. I thought she was watching Alvin and the Chipmunks. I walked into the living room and she was hiding something behind her back. I noticed the open gallon of milk on the couch and told her not to open the milk and that I would get her some if she asked. I was looking for the lid and asked her where she put it. "Over there" she said, without pointing, hands still behind her back. "WHERE? Show me" I said. She didn't move just said over there. I asked her what she was hiding. "Nothing." I pulled her away from the couch and looked in her hands. I didn't notice it at first. My brain trying to process what she was holding. Then it hit me and I let out a scream!! OMG! She had Bella's goldfish in her fat little hands! It was not moving and I'm screaming at her. I grab a cup and filled it with water, slipped the fish in and ran upstairs to the tank. It's moving, but barely. Poor thing is fighting to stay on the bottom but he keeps floating to the top.
I'm so sad. I don't think he'll make it. We really enjoy him. For a fish, he's funny. Mooch is his name b/c every time we walk into the room, he's trying like mad to get to where we stand. BEGGING for food! No matter where we walk, he follows. He's happy when he eats I think it's hilarious!
I put the little fish killer in her room and she's been there for about 30 minutes. I can't let her out... I'm still mad. She's been told to leave the fish alone. Several times.
UGH!
I think a final swim in the toilet bowl is in our near future!
Poor thing.
Odd Things
I really tried to be good about getting into the whole blog thing. If you made it this far, then you'll realize that I haven't. Only one blog post before this one. I read several blogs, but, I just didn't see my life that interesting. I mean, WHO is going to read this thing besides me!?!? I'll probably read it several times over and over, cuz I think my life is HILARIOUS!!! But, I don't know who else will. So, I'll post just for me and see what happens!
I got this quiz from Kristi and it's the perfect way to break back into the whole blog thing.
So, THANKS, Kristi.
Odd Things you never cared to know about Amy:
1. Do you like blue cheese? NO!! NO!!! NO!!! Eww... However, I LOVE blue cheese dressing when its mixed with cream cheese, Red Hot Sauce, lots of cheddar cheese; baked in an oven and eaten with tortilla chips. Does that count???
2. Have you ever smoked heroin? No. But, I wouldn't admit it on this blog, cuz its public and anyone could be reading this. However, it's probably a lot easier to score Heroin in jail.
3. Do you own a gun? Yes. And, I'm getting my concealed weapons permit too... does that scare ya?
4. What flavor do you add to your drink at Sonic? I'd like to goto Sonic. We just got one a few miles from my house... tell those stupid people to stop waiting in a 20 car line just to go through the drive thru, so I can give it a go. YEESH!
5. Do you get nervous before doctor appointments? Yes. I know that they will weigh me. Why do they need to do that? Ticks me off. I refused once. Told them they couldn't weigh me and that little nurse looked at me like I had two heads. Then she started scribbling in my chart and I told her that I didn't care if she wrote that I was uncooperative cuz she wasn't going to ruin my day for a case of PINK EYE! Hmpf.
6. What do you think of hot dogs? Meh. I can do without them... But, give me a Ballpark hot dog at any Tiger game. Damn. Those are good dogs.
7.Favorite Christmas song? Another year has gone by: Celine Dion
8. What do you prefer to drink in the morning? I love OJ in the morning (orange juice, not the killer)
9. Can you do push ups? Yep. It's not really THAT hard to push up that orange ice cream. geez. That was kinda a dumb question.

11. Favorite hobby? scrapbooking
12. Do you have A.D.D.? no.
13. What's one trait that you hate about yourself? I have no willpower and I'm lazy.

The exorist of Isabella Rose
Oh, what a fun-filled day! We've all been there. You know, the day you have to take your child to the pediatrician for their "back to school physical". The ONLY time I actually schedule a time to go. I don't usually tell my daughter that we are heading to the doc. I don't really need all the drama involved. I would just prefer to tell her as we turn into the parking lot... But, I didn't. I told her in the morning. That started the question I knew would come... "do I have to get a shot?". Over and over she asked. I informed my 5yr old daughter, that we were just going to make sure she was healthy enough to go to school. The doctor is going to make sure you can see and hear so you are able to learn at school. "But, do I have to get a shot?"
I'm not going to lie to the girl. I am a Pediatric nurse and have been for over 12 years. I think she should be ok... no shot due, but I can't be sure. So I don't want to give her false reassurance. "Bella. I don't think that you need a shot, but the doctor is going to be the one to decide. We'll just have to wait and see". "But, I don't want to get a shot" :::insert drama here:::
I've always been very matter of fact about shots. You just have to have them. I'll tell ya. No amount of reasoning is going to help. Kids just don't like shots.
So. We finally get there and she relaxes a bit when the doc enters the room. Bella is excited to show her all the things she's able to do. She has 20/20 vision (wahoo!) and can obviously hear because she answered the doctor's questions (but, I would have argued that she is DEAF!). Then she asked the question "ummm, do I have to getta shot?" The doctor paused and looked at the chart. Then she says "why don't you ask me that question after I finish checking you out." CRAP. I KNOW what that means. I better start lifting weights, cuz a fight is gonna ensue.
Once Bella finds out that she actually has to get a shot, the drama breaks loose. For the next 20 minutes, she sits crying on my lap. "I don't want to get a shot".... I even go into the bribery mode. I know what will work... I tell her if she is a brave girl and follows directions then I will let her pick out the coveted Webkinz animals she fell in love with. I felt it was a fitting reward, considering I didn't think she was going to get a shot today. I thought it was my Ace in the hole. Well, the nurse walks in and it turned into WWF! My 5 year old daughter wrapped her legs around my waist and started screaming "I DON'T WANT A SHOT! I DON'T WANT A SHOT"... she refuses to even sit on the table. I lay her down and try to reason with her... "be good, you can have a Webkinz if you're brave"... then, i thought her head was going to spin around and she was going to spew green barf on me! My good-natured, smiling, happy 5 year old daughter started speaking in demonic tones... NO. NO. NO. LET ME UP. NO.. GET OFF ME! I am trying to hold her down and she lands a swift kick right into the chest of this rookie nurse. I grab her hands, and laid completely across her body trying to keep her still. Before I knew it that rookie nurse had the shot in and bandaded. She did pretty good. Then my dear daughter sat up and wiped her tears and asked for her Webkinz.
She is outta her mind. I'm forever changed. My sweet, non-aggressive, happy, smiling daughter is possessed. There is no other explanation.
Next school physical.... Mark gets to take her.
